  4. Save it to Files.

WhatsApp on Android

  1. Open the chat in WhatsApp.

Telegram, iMessage, SMS or Messenger

Telegram

  1. On Telegram Desktop, open the chat.
  2. Click ⋮, then Export chat history.
  3. Choose Machine-readable JSON, tick Voice messages if you want them, and export.
  4. Open the result.json file here, or zip the whole folder.

iMessage (iPhone)

  1. Apple has no export button. Use the iMazing app on a computer (free trial exports a limited number of messages).
  2. Choose Messages, pick the conversation, then Export to CSV.
  3. Open that .csv file here.

SMS (Android)

  1. Install the free SMS Backup & Restore app.
  2. Back up your messages to your phone, as an XML file.
  3. Open that .xml file here. It holds every conversation, so we ask whose messages you want and leave the others out.

Messenger (Facebook)

  1. On Facebook, go to Settings, then Download your information.
  2. Choose Messages and the format JSON.
  3. Unzip, then open the message_1.json file for the chat (or the whole zip).

Send this voice note to be written out?

The audio of this one voice note is sent to Cloudflare's speech-to-text service, which turns it into words. Cloudflare says it does not keep the audio or the words, and does not use them for training. Your written messages stay on this device.

The words are a machine's best guess and are labelled that way in your pack.
